New Partnership Announcement – Maughan Thiem

Maughan Thiem Ford helps young Police Legatees get behind the wheel

Young South Australians who have lost a parent in a police family will be given the chance to gain independence on the road, thanks to a Safe Driving Grant funded by Maughan Thiem Ford.

The Safe Driving Grant by Maughan Thiem Ford will see each young South Australian Police Legatees supported with up to $1,200 worth of driving lessons in the lead up to applying for their licence.

SA Police Legacy is a charity which supports police and their families during times of hardship. This may be after the death of a police officer or their spouse, or after a serious illness or injury in the family.

SA Police Legacy is currently supporting over 40 young Police Legatees some of which will be eligible for the Safe Driving Grant by Maughan Thiem Ford in the next 12 months.

SA Police Legacy’s Manager, Karen Cucchiarelli, said the charity was very grateful for Maughan Thiem Ford’s support.

“SA Police Legacy aims to ensure that when tragedy happens, no police family is left behind. The Safe Driving Grant by Maughan Thiem Ford will provide critical practical support to young Police Legatees as they prepare to get their licence,” Ms Cucchiarelli said.

“Maughan Thiem Ford is thrilled to be sponsoring this grant for the next 12 months to help young Police Legatees. Being an active part of the community is important to us, and we are proud to offer this grant which will make a difference to young people who have suffered the loss of a parent” said Maughan Theim’s Chief Executive Officers, Daniel Thomas.

Since this grant became available in 1998, SA Police Legacy has paid over $18 000 in safe driving support to bereaved police young legatees. Having Maughan Thiem providing sponsorship for the next twelve months means that SA Police Legacy can use their funds in other meaningful ways, providing greater support to these children.
